EOS Lighting Solutions upgraded more than 500 exterior luminaires across Westfield London, from entrance canopies and restaurant terraces to feature walls and living walls. Iris, Podio, Clessidra and Micro Floor LED luminaires, together with British-manufactured LED gear trays on DALI, deliver more consistent, uniform light with far less maintenance, all controlled through the centre's existing lighting control system.
After dark, Westfield London's exterior is what draws people in, from the canopies over its entrances to the terraces outside its restaurants and the green living walls around the site. The mix of PL-T fluorescent canopy lights and older fittings gave patchy, inconsistent light across the architecture and needed frequent maintenance to keep every fitting working. Westfield wanted a consistent, uniform look across the whole exterior with less maintenance, controlled through the lighting control system already in place.

Solutions Provided
Iris LED Canopy Downlights with IP65 Trim
The PL-T fluorescent downlights in the entrance canopies were replaced with Iris LED downlights fitted with an IP65 trim. The sealed trim protects against rain and dust in an exposed outdoor position, while LED removes the regular lamp changes of the old fluorescent fittings.
Podio 2569 Restaurant Canopy Lighting
Over the restaurant canopies, EOS installed the Podio 2569 in white. The finish blends with the canopy structure and gives diners and passers-by even, comfortable light across the terraces.
Clessidra Direct/Indirect Luminaires
The Clessidra provides direct and indirect light from a single luminaire, lighting the ground below while washing the surrounding surfaces. This adds depth to the architecture and helps create the even, consistent appearance Westfield wanted.
Bespoke British-Manufactured LED Gear Trays
Rather than replace every fitting, EOS designed bespoke LED gear trays to retrofit into the existing lighting stacks, recessed brick luminaires and indirect wall lights. The gear trays are manufactured in Britain using Tridonic LED boards and DALI drivers, keeping the original fittings and the look of the building while upgrading the light inside them.
Micro Floor 1670 Living Wall Lighting
Around the base of the small living walls, EOS installed the Micro Floor 1670. The compact in-ground luminaires light the planting from below, bringing the green walls to life after dark.
DALI Lighting Control
All DALI drivers were commissioned onto Westfield London's incumbent lighting control system. The centre keeps full control of its exterior lighting from the system it already uses, with no new control platform to learn or maintain.
