EOS Lights Kent's Last Remaining Leisure Pier

Dubbed one of the best places to live in the UK, Deal is home to the last remaining fully intact leisure pier in Kent. In 2018, on the 60th anniversary of its official opening, the pier underwent a £500,000 restoration including resurfacing, replacement railings and drainage upgrades.
EOS Lighting Solutions is pleased to have been commissioned to deliver a lighting upgrade project along this famous coastal landmark.
Partner Brian Glynn explains: "We are replacing the existing post-top lanterns with customised versions of our Link luminaire, mounted on bespoke stainless-steel columns. Link adds an architectural design signature to the area while providing the right amount of light for pedestrians to feel safe walking along the pier at night."
The project also includes EOS Xeon camera housings along the waterfront, maintaining visual uniformity across the installation. At the pier's café, our TUBE 70 luminaire will provide RGBW colour-change capability, creating dramatic lighting scenes for nighttime visitors.
This project showcases EOS's strength in bespoke exterior lighting — adapting standard products with custom modifications to suit the unique requirements of heritage and public realm environments. The combination of functional pedestrian lighting, architectural design and dynamic colour-changing technology demonstrates our full exterior lighting capability.
Deal Pier is a beautiful example of how thoughtful lighting design can enhance public spaces, improve safety and create memorable nighttime experiences for visitors and residents alike.
